Clone requests 2
« on: January 09, 2013, 11:05:43 AM »
Hi everyone,

First, thanks for this awesome plugin, i really love it. Well recently i wanted to use it for stuff like tiles and brik walls and ran into some limitations so here are my suggestions.

1. 3D arrays (i know this could be achived be stacking multiple clone modifiers on top of each other but if you want to change some values you have to jump through the stack).
2. All random values separately for X, Y and Z (and as float type like previously suggested).
3. An offset function with the possibility to offset every nth row within an array (this could be helpfull if you want to make a brik wall in a running bond style).

that's it, thanks.

Hi, thanks for using Clone and for your suggestions.

Unfortunately we are now really busy with Forest/RailClone, but for sure we will take in account your suggestions for a new version. I think most of them could be implemented without much trouble.

+ for möbius suggestions.

Clone it's a great plugin and has a lot of potential imho.
For instance it would be nice to have an option to rotate, scale or move using a different anchor point.
Or also using a mesh or an helper to drive the transformations.

Cheers.
