Does Glue Do This?
« on: June 28, 2007, 01:45:27 AM »
Carlos,

I am wondering if Glue can be made to do this:  Can Glue NOT create a new spline but instead, drop the original spline down onto the object surface?

See the attached image.

I have thousands of verts that need to be dropped onto a surface and Glue almost works but only if it will use the orginal spline.  (I use this original spline to Link Transform the verts to the original spline to put them on the surface).

Thanks!
Sincerely,

Mike Truly

Carlos,

Though it would be nice to have the feature I mentioned, I found another way to do what I needed.

I used the Conform compound object on the selected verts and it dropped them onto the object surface.

Thanks anyway!

Mike,

No, Glue doesn't work using the original vertexs of the spline, it creates news points interpolated along the spline.

That feature may be very interesting... we'll try it for the next release.
