Title: Glue Trouble
Post by: throwerp on October 31, 2007, 10:16:23 AM
Hi,
I'm a brand new member here who has recently downloaded the Glue plug-in for use in 3DS.  I'm currently 'glueing' 200+ splines to a surface and the first 100 'glued' without too much trouble (the odd crash here and there).  However, using all the same parameters as before, the next set of splines won't 'glue'.

Is there a reason for this?
Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

I just created a test scene with 200 splines to test the plugin, but it works fine...  :-\

If you like, send me your scene to support@itoosoft.com (only the splines if the file is too large), and i will check it.

Were the splines created with AutoCad ? These type of splines imported into 3DS give a lot of problems...

Yes the lines were created in ACAD.
Why does that make it a problem?

Because the importer creates a lot of vertices, some of them overlapped. Try to edit some of those lines, you will see the mess.

Sometimes, i've had to create a new spline in 3DS, drawing over the original, because was more easy than try to fix the Acad line.

Ok, I understand that.
But why do some (about 140 out of 208) then not the rest?

I suppose I'll keep struglling on!!
