Title: 3-lane road ?

is it possible to edit a standard model to have 3 lanes?

Yes, you can edit all models, just use the button "Extract" under the segment list, an instace of the internal object will be created on the scene

Just edit this edit with the appropiate changes, and when you will finish delete it. As RailClone stores segements as subobject instances, the changes will be reflected and stored in RailClone.
