Title: Controlling segment ID by map or other
Post by: RG1597 on March 11, 2020, 06:22:03 PM
I'm just laying out some paving over a large area using RClite. It has a curved edge so utilizing the 'clipping area' along with two segments (there will eventually be 3).

I will need to dictate where these segments are places eventually according to a landscaping plan, at the moment they're just randomized with a random operator.

Is this possible (in RC pro or lite)? Kind of like the clusters by map function in Forest Pack, or am I just better off using some other method entirely?

I could potentially just do it with material IDs, but this would involve using the horrible MAX boolean function.....

Hi,

Using the Tint > Get Color from Map > As texture on surface (https://docs.itoosoft.com/railclone/railclone-color#RailCloneColor-ToTintmapsusingcolorsfromasurface) feature of the RailClone Color map should do the trick. I’m attaching a sample scene showing this kind of set-up.

Best regards,
