VrayLightMtl on railclone objects - not emitting light properly.
« on: September 29, 2020, 05:07:38 PM »
VrayLightMtl produces unexpected results when applied to a Railclone object.

The firest file is the railclone object inside another one (spheres inside each room of a building)
The second is normal spheres instanced inside the rooms (railclone) with the same material applied.

Vray 5 3DSMax 2021.

Is this known behaviour? If so it's a real shame as it wouldn't allow material workflow for variable lighting inside buildings.

Ok, nevermind, it works going through the VrayMtl self illumination slot

I experience the same issue, but with a twist.
Oddly, VrayLightMtl produces a desired effect when rendering with Vray IPR, but when switching to production render it doesn't work anymore.
Almost feel seems like Direct Illumination doesn't work anymore (like its in a multisub), since the RC object still glowing but won't light up a room.
