RailClone Animation Features?
« on: April 10, 2015, 01:16:54 AM »
Hi there,

after having lost my hope to see a mograph tool being integrated into 3ds Max, I started looking at third party solutions.
Railclone could be a good candidate, just I don't know what are its animation features.
At this point, before I give up on a 3ds Max MoGraph tool, I wanted to check here and ask if there's already some animation feature in RailClone (Pro perhaps?), if planned or it can be taken under consideration by the developers.
If there would be some sort of node in conjunction with effectors, well I'd be sold :)

Thanks for any info.

Hi, thanks for contacting iToo Software and for your interest in our products.

In the current version RailClone has not specific animation features, although you can export numeric parameters from the Style Editor and animate them. Also it's possible to animate the base splines, and the geometry will be updated on real-time. Both possibilities are available in Lite version as well.

Other advanced animation features are in the wishlist, altough i must say it's not a priority in our roadmap for next updates.

Unlike other parametric tools, RailClone is intended to work at a higher level of abstraction using any type of arbitrary mesh. It can solve intelligently operations needed to join pieces, as weld, bend, slice and others commonly assembly operations. It Is specially suited to build most types of artificial constructions.

Our intention is to create a time-saver tool to build most of the commonly used elements in architecture and industrial scenes. But of course we are open to listen any idea and suggestions from our users, as we has done with Forest Pack in the later years.

Thanks,
Carlos Quintero
