Lights on a taxiway
« on: November 13, 2024, 06:36:54 AM »
Hello everyone,

I'm trying to populate airport taxiways with Vray lights. I have two questions.

1) is it possible to visualise the light instances in the RC object? The light I'm using is a double-sided plane light with the cone preview set to always. All I can show is a small box which makes difficult to understand if the lights are oriented properly.
2) I can't get the lights to properly follow the spline. I've attached a sample of the scene, the light the viewport looks at is probably the most out-of-aligment of all lights.

Thank you.

Hi Luca,

(1) The RailClone plug-in is primarily designed to handle geometry objects, so a preview like the one showing these cones is not supported. This would require instancing these segments using the RailClone Tools utility.

(2) Instead of using a Fixed Size for spacing the lights in the Default Input, the Evenly Input would be a better fit for this scenario. Please find the revised version of your scene attached (241113_TaxiwayExample_ITOOSOFT.max).

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Chhers for that, I felt like I was overcomplicating my life...maybe randomly skipping on tutorial videos isn't the best practice. :P
