Need help with creating a mound.

Hi all.

I'm trying to create an island/median and this is what I have so far. I'm pretty satisfied with it so far but I would like to have the center green portion billow upward about 6in like the ground is built up on the island. I'm thinking there might be a way using an expression and the clipping boundary. Some kind of falloff or gradient that would tell the software to move the mound in the z direction. I tried using the vraydistancetex slotted into the object's material displace slot but that didn't work.
