Railclone colour map - by element shading
« on: August 20, 2020, 12:43:33 PM »
Anyway to use RCclour map on a per element basis?

I have a very large area to cover with paving. I has a 10mx10m pattern repeat, but there will be material changes within that (made of slabs so I don't want every 10m square to look like every other one). Using individual slabs will become very unweildy, so I'm using the 10x10m geo repeat.

A quick test, attached suggests that RCColour map works on a per-object basis, and there's no option to switch to per-element as with FP colour.

I know the mods will be loathed to answer this, seeing as I'm a lowly RClite user. I do use FP pro and can't justify RC pro to my seniors at the moment, when this is doing everything I need (well, up until now!)

RC color works on Segment.
There are multiple ways to solve it. Shifting UVs is the easiest.

Thanks for confirming. I've found another way around it using VRayMultiSubTex
