Tiled floor clipping path
« on: March 07, 2019, 04:44:07 PM »
Hi
attached is a screen grab from 3D Max, I have 2 clipping paths, I 'copied' the Macros: Mirror Variations and Stepped Rotation tutorial, but cannot get the tiles to match. The horizontal 'lines' match but the vertical ones won't line up (indicated by the red lines), in any of the areas, the main tiles are intersected by a darker curved area (the green lines).
The original clipping path has the smaller curved area boolean'd 'out of it', I also created a clipping path from scratch, drawing all segments, not booleaning them, but still got the same result.
Basically the tiled floor should look consistent all over, with only the darker/lighter colour differentiating it.

One other point, I have licences for Forest Pro and Railclone Pro, but can only post in the Forest Pro forum not Railclone Pro, hence posting here, not sure why.

thanks

John

Hi John,

To align the RC object as wanted is possible to use the Clipping Area without the Extend X/Y Size to Area feature. You can set the Geometry - X Size & Y Size to overlap such spline, align your RC object as needed and use the Clipping Area to remove unnecessary parts of the object.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,
