Automatically make a flat roof inside of random Railclone houses
« on: February 23, 2023, 06:18:23 PM »
Question about Megascans Modular building assets with RailClone from Ask iToo! | Forest Pack and RailClone Q&A | 31 March, 2022 (btw, I love these in depth shows!!!). If you have a set of high-risers of different size, so randomized height, how can you efficiently and automatically make a flat roof inside Railclone. Like in the setup below. How can I automate the creation of a roof, probably with some Objects on it like air-condition, ventilator and so on.

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words about the live streams, I'm glad you find them handy.

You should be able to do that by adding an additional A2S generator for the roof, setting it to Extend X/Y Size to area and using your roof plate in the Default input. Wire the same parameter you are using to set the height of the tower into this generator's Z Offset input.

It's probably easier to show this than to explain so I've attached a simplified scene that illustrates the principle.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers!

Paul

Thank you very much for the quick response. And for the scene. This has increased my understanding of RailClone immensely. Very cool.
