Acquiring licence when not on LAN
« on: April 09, 2019, 12:46:40 PM »
So I have this situation which I kinda figured out but its not very optimal.
You see, I have a couple of RC and FPP floating license on one of my PCs. When connected over wifi or LAN I can access them with no problem and everything works just fine.
Now when i'm not in the office, let say in school or at home, I just access the license server by changing the IP address to the DNS address I have (port configured in router and works) in the "Change License Mode" tool and I can easily do my projects when outside the office.

But is a hassle to keep changing that. Is there a way to make it automatic? Or some file I can edit and add 2 different IP addresses for my PC to scan when starting up RC or FPP?

Hi,

I‘m afraid, that currently there‘s no automatic detection of the current network, but this parameter "LicservHost" is stored under following keys:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Itoo Software\RailClone Pro]

and changing this value, for example by „importing“ prepared .reg files might be an option for you.

Best regards,
