Gradient probability on objects variation
« on: November 26, 2019, 09:28:57 AM »
Hello.

Sorry for generating topic here, but i can't do it in RailClone Pro section.

I'm trying to create in RailClone Pro office tower facade. I have 2 different segments. My goal is to create facade where bottom uses one type of segments, and top uses the other one. Between them along tower height i want to gradient variation, the same way as in Itoo tutorial - https://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/using-railclones-gradient-probability-macro?back=page%3D2%26tag%3Drailclone but instead material variation i want to use geometry variation.

Anyone can help? I've tried and tried and with no success. I'm pretty sure that the solution is very simple, but there are no tutorials about that kind of problems in the internet.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and Welcome!

I have fixed Your account permissions and moved topic to PRO board.

Regarding Your question- generally You randomize geometry with randomize node:

If You want gradient we will need some math expressions. I have attached a 3 segments gradient macro for You as well as whole example scene:

I hope that helps

I think that solves my problem. Is it possible to achieve this effect if i'm using both x and y splines for a2s array?
Also - if i want to use your solution but with 2 modules, not 3, am i correct that i just need to delete one segment from the selector?
Anyway many thanks for the tip :)))

Macro works for 2 segments as well. Feel free to experiment:
