randomised compose tool doesn't make sense.
« on: June 25, 2018, 03:00:05 PM »
I want to make a slum for a big matte painting.

This needs a lot of randomisation to make work. I was hoping to use the compose tool to randomly position objects (like aircon units etc ) ontop of random wall sections.
As far as I can tell this flow should ONLY have random objects attached to wall segments WITHOUT balconies. Yet this isn't the case as you can see in the image.

There seems to be NO way to control which objects are composed with which wall sections.

I need a different set of objects randomly composed if the wall section has a balcony ( otherwise they'll clip through and not be correctly placed )

Railclone seriously uncontrollable and intuitive to make this work. I can't tell if this a 'bug' or a 'feature'

(as a side note whats the best way to show images directly in a post ?)

Hi, thank You for Your question.

Your graph looks ok, You only need few adjustments:
make x alignment to pivot for most of the segments (as You are using grouped mode).
And remove fixed translation parameters for air conditioner and washer.

Also please take a look into this topic, this affected You.
I apologize, as I believe You could have been infected in our forum as I had this infection for a few weeks period.

Regarding adding images, use imgur and choose bbcode share:

Thanks for the quick reply

When I change the main wall sections to pivot it shifts everything over by half a tile and breaks my nice clean corners :(

Is there a way of fixing the alignment of the compose tool without breaking the corners ?

(arg, i missed a file with that virus, its fixed now ... )

Move pivots to opposite segment side:

Amazing, that's great ( though the first floor glitches occasionally )

I've been trying to do this for weeks.

So my next question is why ?

... why does the group option compose tool need everything to be set to pivot

... why does the segment need its pivot point placed in that location
