Hi,

I'm currently trying to run some test frames for an animation but the nodes will only render frame 0. Frames 59 and 119 (I've set up 3 frames per camera path 120frames) get stuck at railclone objects (different ones with different attempts). RC objects are static, it's only the cam that moves. I can render the frames individually when I send it as only frame 59 for example, but having them rendered as part of a set via backburner doesn't work. I checked the installations (4.3.1.), re-installed 4.3.0 just incase but they all gave the same errors. A couple of weeks ago it all worked. Since then we have upgraded our software from 3ds max 2018.4 to 2021.3 with all the latest builds for everything. It seems to be something when rendering as an animation as the rest of the time they just work as normal. There is also no error message, just stays at compiling the RC object. When rendered as single still the compilation is almost instant, and the objects they get stuck at are simple RC's aswell.

I saw a similar error for Arnold from a while back with the solution being to turn the instance engine off but I haven't tested that yet, as in the Itoo render practices vray should support everything. I can try that tommorow morning, midnight now so will leave it for today.

Any ideas what could fix it?

WIN10
MAX 2021.3
VRAY 5.1.2 (or whatever the latest version is)
FP7 / RC 4.3.1

Hi.
I am sorry to hear You got this issue.

Make sure all render nodes use exactly the same software versions.
Can You replicate the issue on single PC with backburner server and manager working locally ?

I would like to ask You to send us sample scene so we can investigate it further.

Thanks for Your cooperation on this.

Hi,

I've just sent it now with wetransfer.

Could it be down to using older RC's? Where they got stuck were both RC's that were copied from older files.

Anyway, gonna convert them to poly due to time constraints but hopefully you can find something.

Kind regards,

Dean
