Arnold Render Error for Max 2024
« on: April 10, 2025, 02:37:57 PM »
I'm running Railcone Pro 6.4.1 on Max 2024 with MAXtoA 5.8.0.0 (Arnold 7.4.0.0). I create a scene with a RC object and get an error stating that:

Railclone is compiled for Arnold 7.3.1 and is not compatible with current renderer

I know this is usually because RC isn't immediately compatible with the latest Arnold releases, but I tried running the same test with Max 2026 using the same MAXtoA version and it renders normally. Do I need to upgrade my Max version or is this unexpected behavior?
Thanks! :D

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. Currently, only the version for the latest 3ds Max 2026 includes the updated Arnold implementation. For earlier versions, it still relies on the existing implementation with previous Arnold versions, and we recommend using MAXtoA 5.7.8.1 instead. Support for the latest Arnold version will be added to these versions soon. In the meantime, to downgrade, please uninstall the current version via 'Apps & Features' in your system settings. This should resolve the issue.

Best regards,
