Title: Array 2S Tyres color Patterns
Post by: PU1548 on December 18, 2016, 05:23:11 PM
Hello

I'm trying create a Tyre Wall  with RailClone.
(https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/71d6/5911fvuic7w1nkh4g.jpg) (http://www.mediafire.com/view/5911fvuic7w1nkh/Screen_Shot_12-18-16_at_04.03_PM.JPG)

I'm using a Array 2S  to create the walls and set "FREE" in Y mode to fill the gaps  in  curve but  breaks the
Color pattern alignment.  :(

Any tip to reset  pattern or use other method to build this kind of walls?

Thanks

Hi,

Free Y mode allows each row to be calculated separately so as additional segments are added I'm afraid you will end up with that problem. Another though option could be to use Material IDs set on the spline. In that way you can use Free Y mode and maintain coordinated blocks of colour. All you need to do in this case is use a Selector node set to Material ID

I've attached a sample file. I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Many Thanks,

Paul

I used distance along the spline to calculate this, works quite well. But I used x-evenly.
