Condition based on next segment?
« on: July 03, 2014, 06:59:44 AM »
I'm using a setup with a street curb similar to the tutorial video, but for various reasons i'd like the "transition" to occur on the outer side of the segment. I can set the pivot, but the regular segments on ID: 1 intersect them, and they don't conform to the spline. I've attached images showing the input segments, the current setup and what i'd like to do. How do I achieve this?

Hi George,

Thanks for contacting us with this question. The method shown in the tutorial video isn't ideally suited to this scenario. When using the Limit to Material ID option in a generator,  it treats that section as an individual spline, so adjacent sections won't affect the deformation. I've attached a file to try and get this to work which replaces the Limit to ID option with a series of Conditional operators. By using a combination of checking for Material IDs and Vertex types I can get the behaviour you describe.

Note that this style uses the RailClone 2.3 beta's bevel options to achieve certain corner effects.

I hope that helps, don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks!

Paul
