Array Problem - Inner corner
« on: January 15, 2018, 03:02:11 PM »
Dear members,

For one internal training in our company I've tried to recreate one basic tutorial from the "getting started guide" and some really strange issue appeared.

The corner had some strange behavior.

Something really messy is happening when it reaches the Y_Evenly and Top segments.
I'm not quite sure but this seems like some kind of bug for me.

*I've attached the file.    We're still with 3.07, and didn't had the chance to test it in 3.09. It'll be great if someone can do it for me.

Thank you in advance,
Kiril Alexandrov, RedVertex Team.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this. I'm trying it here and I can recreate the issue. It would appear that the gaps appear in the array if X Rotation is set to 0 (the default). In the images at the end of that tutorial the style doesn't use a spline for the Y Axis, instead it uses a Y Size measurement and in order to make the wall vertical an X Rotation of 90 degrees is used. When rotated the array behaves as expected.

I've reported this to our development team for further investigation, hopefully they can resolve it quickly. In the meantime you can use the Y Size trick instead of a Y Spline to get around that issue. The file named a2s_generator_end.max from the downloads for the tutorial contains a working version of the style that uses this technique.

I hope that helps and I apologise for any inconvenience.

All the best,

Paul

Dear Paul,

Thank you very much for the replay.
I have already downloaded the scene from the manual. My intention was to use the geometry for a practical demonstration with two splines in order to explain how the different segments work in the Array 2S.

Again, thank you for the support.

Regards,
Kiril
