Best way to "group" objects?

Hi all,

I am trying to arrange some bolts for some wood joints.

Initially I wanted just to use 1 bolt and then arrange them with railclone and some operators, but I couldn't do it. Then I tried to group 3 of them and arrange them, but I also had some trouble.

I was trying to use compose operator but my biggest issue with it is that every time I plug a new segment into it, it seems to move all the segments. I would just hope to find some way to Group geometry and then use transforms and mirrors to put them into position but this issue with the compose node makes it completely hell to adjust everything.

I dont´t know if i am explaining myself well, but I hope someone could give my a hint.

Hi,

As mentioned in this "Composed hexagon and transform issues" tightly related thread: "At the moment each object is affected by the transform operator individually. The best way to see the compose operator is as a way to combine objects so that multiple segments can be wired to a single input, not as a grouping tool."

Please feel free to upload an image of your style / your scene to check possible options for your scenario.

Thanks, it makes some things clearer.

It does not really help to this particular case but thanks.

Y finally just attached the elements in an edit poly and worked on that. I'll wait for some kind of grouping node in the future. In the meantime i will just keep it simple.
