Curve follows the main target
« on: May 29, 2022, 02:14:57 AM »
Curve from the extracted selected edge (poly face) of the object and follow the selected face or vertex when adjusting at the same time.

I want to know if that's possible and how I can achieve that.

For example, when I select a single poly face of the box and adjust the height while the curve should follow at the same time. Otherwise, I have to select a vertex from a curve to adjust, and then I have to select the poly face of the object to adjust which is time-consuming.

Please the image attached for comparison.

Is there a way to achieve that?

Thank you so much!

Hi Louis,

The Surface node might be a good option in this case. Just let me mention, that RailClone surface tools are a little limited at the moment - rather than follow the polygons or the UVs like a paneling tool, In RailClone geometry is projected along the RC object's local Z axis until it hits the surface's geometry. This means that it only works well when the face normal points towards the RC object. Any polys with faces that point away or overlap will not work well.

Best regards,

Louis

Hi Michal,

Close! I was hoping for another method but better than nothing.

I appreciate the insight and I got to know more about Railclone's limitations.

Thank you!
