Odd issues
« on: April 15, 2016, 12:41:27 PM »
Hey guys,

I've been creating a couple of houses and on them I've used railclone, and I'm running into a few problems...

The first is that my balconies (using a railclone style) are not displaying on the spline, but some 20 meters away from where they should be.

The second is that I've created a tile hanging/facade cladding railclone style that is fairly simple, and seemed to be working fine when I was modelling the houses (in a separate file), but now that I have imported the houses and moved them to where they need to be on the site the style either disappears, or displays in the wrong place. See picture...

Hi,

This is unusual behaviour. I would recommend checking the following:

- Check that Free Object is unchecked.

- If you're using clipping splines, check that the RailClone object is still oriented so that it flat on the spline area. If could be that the spline got rotated but the RailClone object did not
- Reselect all the base splines, sometimes this forces an update and sorts things out.
- The RailClone Objects can't be instanced (they use different base splines) If this is the case make them unique and re-assign the correct splines.

If none of that helps, would it be possible to send me the problematic objects and their base splines? Please send them to support@itoosoft.com if you'd rather not share them publicly.

Many thanks,

Paul.

Ah! I haven't tried this solution yet, but now you mention it I did have all the railclone objects grouped wth all of the rest of the building, and copied them as instances.

[Edit] This was what was causing the problem, how short sighted of me!
