Asymetric Floor Tile Design
« on: June 05, 2018, 12:56:32 PM »
Hello everybody,

As anyone tried a floor tile pattern like this one?
http://www.pavingexpert.com/images/flags/layout_pseud01.gif  - http://www.pavingexpert.com/images/flags/layout_pseud03.gif

How would you setup an array for this kind of flooring?
We have projects with this or an similar pattern quite often and it would be a huge time-saver if there is a way to easily create a kind of own preset for this kind of tiling.

I'm thankful for any idea how to tackle this.

Thanks a lot !

I had no problems following the guide with the examples given there.
But now I tried to apply it to a floor tile design currently needed in one of our projects and I can't quite figure it out.

I attached the file, it would be great if somebody could take a look.
And again thanks !

Try values:

Constant Bottom 0
Constant Right -25
Incremental X -25
Incremental Y -30

Great that works! Thanks!

Is there a certain way to figure out the right values?  I got the y-Incremenial value of the translation of the elements in y-direction. But was stuck in getting the other values right. How did you figure out the -25 for Constant Right and -25 for Incremental X?

I used real time view-port feedback.
Start with Incremental values.
And look for continuous gaps, that can be filled with Constant translation. Probably it could be figured out with some math though.
