Can I give this scene file to my friend to add some objects ?
« on: August 09, 2014, 02:19:50 PM »
I have some Railclone objects and some Forest objects in my scene. Can I give this scene file to my friend to add some objects ? My friend's computer is just a rendernode of Railclone and Forest pro.(my friend doesn't have an iToosoft license) The Railclone objects and the Forest objects won't be edited or rendered in 3dsMAX window.  But the Railclone objects and the Forest objects are reference objects in the scene. Is any problem with rendering or editing the iToo objects in the scene that my friend give me back after he finished adding his objects ?

I am looking forward to your reply, iToosoft.

There are not render nodes of our software, the package for network rendering is the same than Pro versions. So, be sure your friend is not using a non-legitimate version. It would corrupt or generate unexpected results in your scene.

In this case i suggest to give to your friend a version of the scene without Forest or RailClone objects, and merge them later, or alternatively keep them in a separated Xref'd scene.

I am sure he won't use a  non-legitimate version. He is in the same LAN  in my office. I sent him my Railclone pro and my Forest pro pack. He installed the plugins without licenses or activations (His computer is a render machine in my backburner network.). He found he can open the scene but he cannot render or edit the iToo objects. He just want to add some objects.
Is it safe that he add some objects directly in my scene file ?
Or must he open my scene as a Xref'd scene ?

Turning all Railclone and Forest objects into mesh every time may cause the scene too "heavy" (some trees or segments have too many polygons). It's a troublesome.

Ok, if he's using your software packages, it's safe to edit the scene. Just Forest and RailClone objects cannot be edited or rendered.
