Cap Holes welds vertices
« on: September 21, 2022, 12:22:20 PM »
Hi, I have a problem with the cap holes functionality where when enabled, it welds the vertices of my segment as if there is a too high weld threshold if there is such a thing for this option. I'm attaching an image with and without it enabled. The geometry is very simple and clean. Is there a problem with my scene scale? It is in meters, but everything is modeled to scale.

Hi,

Thanks for the question. For the cap holes feature, we use a 3ds Max Meshes library available in its SDK and unfortunately we're limited by what that makes available to us. Specifically, there isn't any weld threshold parameter in the cap holes function, it's handled entirely by the Max meshes library.

When this has cropped up in the past, users have been able to use a smaller scene units option to get around the limitation.

I hope that helps,

I understand. It would be great if a threshold of some sort was possible but thanks for the explanation.
