colourbond roofing sheeting
« on: May 24, 2019, 05:12:48 AM »
Hi
Having an issue with trying to create colorbond roof sheeting.  I have created a extrusion of the shape i need and link it to a 2d array and spline for the roof segment.  Seems to work fine except the sheeting is stacked above each other.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to resolve this issue.

Cheers
Clint

How would You want that to look? maybe You need Linear generator instead of 2 dimensional.
If You attach Your file and sketch of what You are building, I would be happy to help You.

Thanks Rokas for the reply.

I did also try a linear array with out much success.  I have attached a screenshot of the roof created manually via extruding rotating and slicing.  Plus a dropbox link with max file of the roof spline and the segment representing the CB longline cladding i am trying to replicate.

Thanks for the file.

What I first did- is to reset Your segment Xform that fixed most of the issues.
Then I created clipping area style and auto-align to spline.
Linear array is not useful for this kind of roof.

Scene attached. Hope this helps.

Thanks Rokas

Resetting the xform worked a treat.  Thanks again for your help.
