Hi Guys,

I'm having an issue with my Railclone setup. I am trying to make a simple hedge shape with scalable height. This shape consists of a side and a top Object.

The Side Object is a Compose operator and consists of three models, bottom-side, mid-side and top-side. The mid-side section scales according to the height numeric node value, and the top-side translated accordingly. That all works fine.
The cap at the top of the hedge shape, also not a problem.

The problem I am having however is that when I try to use this Composed Operator Object on a spline with line segments and I want to use the scale mode, the element is not scaling properly (see image 1) I can set the segment to curve and have the Object tile, but that is not what I want. (the hedge shape can become large, and I want to keep the poly count low for real time purposes.)

Do I have to make a certain setup for the compose element in order to make this work properly? Perhaps change some of the settings for the master dummy node? (see image 2)

n.b. When I change the order in the compose operator, certain subObjects are changing scale, but it is never what I want in the end.

Hope you guys can help out, I can upload a sample scene if needed

In this situation I would use Array 2S without compose node.

Hope this helps

Awesome, thank you! I Guess I was overthinking the whole process

Hey there!

I found Rokas' suggestion interesting and examined the max file. Thank you for the idea. Only problem is when I tried to array this pinky thing, surface covers messed up.
Because of the walls and covers are separate generators I composed them but no luck. Am I doing something wrong or is there any trick?

Hi Adnan ,

I used two methods to multiply this "pinky thing" Hope this helps.

Oh my god you are faster than light! Thank you again.

I compared all the settings, all values, every tiny details with my settings and all was exactly same. Just when I start to tear my hair I noticed a small tick: Free object.
That was the only problem.

So... If we need to array clipped surfaces we must turn on the free object I think.

Thanks!

Spot on!
Seems to work well in this case.
