Conditional issues
« on: July 08, 2024, 04:16:57 pm »
Hello.

Need help on something that is happening on several project.

I am modelling curbs and setting a conditional node to use high poly mesh on curves and lighter polys on straight lines. But sometimes a curve doesn´t get computed as "curves" and i am getting straight lines instead.

Any ideas?

Hi,

in order to use curves effectively there are generally 2 things to ensure:

1. You need to manually set the spline segments to a curve and the reset to a line by right clicking on them in the viewports

2. In RailClone, you should use Default > Adaptive mode and make sure that the segments restart immediately after a vertex between a line and a curve section. You can do this by wiring a segment to the corner input and choosing an appropriate vertex type.

I hope that helps, if not, please feel free to upload a sample scene and I'll take a closer look.

All the best,

Paul

Hello Paul.

The scene is attached. I was manually selecting splines and curves like you said and Adaptive. But i am not sure on wiring a segment into a corner input as suggested. Can you give me a little help?

I found that rebuilding the splines from the curves vertex, sometimes make things work better. But not in a consistent way.

Tks!
