Striped Brick Paving
« on: May 09, 2018, 03:00:56 PM »
Hi,

Reposting from the lite forum now that i have access to this account.

I'm trying to create a striped brick paving in RC. I followed the floor tutorial to get a simple offset paving pattern and then on the end of the conditional node i added a material node as sequence but it does the ID 1 2 3 in the same row. I need it to do 1 2 3 as whole rows. So row 1 is light, row 2 mid, row 3 dark, repeat.

So my first problem is getting the material node to calculate it via rows and not each instance of the paving brick. and secondly I can see the material changes in the viewport but when rendering with corona is only shows the edge bricks with different materials. the middle ones are all one solid grey colour.

Attaching some snips of the graph, view port and a really noisy sample render that just about shows only the edge ones being rendered.

Hi

You need to modify randomization in another way- link them in sequence operator and increment at Y in it.
Regarding rendering issue please disable instancing (red arrow in screenshot below) as material nodes are not instanced in Corona Renderer.
