Title: Corner on a slope
Post by: suppenhuhn on June 21, 2015, 11:13:48 AM
Hi,

i'm trying to get more into the great possiblities of railclone! I'm wondering if or how i can make a L-angle profile following a spline on a slope with fine corners.

Actually i've a single poly following a spline with bend-deform applied on it - see the attached screenshot, hope it'll help to figure it out what i mean/want  8)

The "slope part" and its corner is perfect - but for the "straight part" i don't know which way to go - should i prepare a seperate corner segment or is it anyhow possible to control the "missing-bend" of the straight part by exporting some values?

Don't have to be perfect but if i can get it close manually would be nice - because this railcloneobject is too far away from the camera to find any small gaps.

Would be grateful for any hint!
greetings robert

Hi, if the slope is the same for all corners, you can create a custom segment for the straight sections, and select it with a Conditional operator.

Unfortunately i don't see any way to select it automatically (there is not any condition to check the Z angle), so in this case you assign in the spline a specific ID for the straight sections. Also, depending of the path, a condition based on Spline->Length->of Current Section would work as well.

I've attached a sample. I hope that helps.
