Title: Corona and Railclone Issues
Post by: Sketchrender on January 22, 2018, 12:05:56 PM
Hi

I have this same problem with FP and RC and they disappear from the screen once they are made in the viewport, they render fine.
The RC symbol vanishes, and so doe the objects, yet they are there.

Same thing with FP.

I am on the latest of everything, Max , corona , windows 10.

it is very slow to build the initial RC system once clicked on screen.

Hi Philip,

Sorry to hear, you're facing these troubles. Are you using the interactive mode? If so, please check this related post (https://forum.itoosoft.com/forest-pro-(*)/bug-in-corona-people-are-requesting-assistance-from-itoo/msg18896/#msg18896) for more details.

Thanks in advance for any further details you can share with us.

Best regards,

Thank you for the reply.
No I don't use Interactive the scenes are too big and full of trees and cars and buildings.

I personally think since I have updated to the latest Max 2018 update, that max has slowed down.
Any idea how to strip it back.

Thank you anyway.

Hi Philip,

Are you using CProxies? If so, it might be linked to the extensive use of CProxy objects - there are series of functions that we use, which seems to be slower with the proxies than with a mesh. Generally, we suggest using poly or mesh models - internally Forest converts all items to native instances of the render engine, so it's as efficient as using proxies. You can find a detailed technical explanation here (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2345.0).

Using XRefs would be recommendable in most situations. Please feel free to check this "Best Workflow for very large scene with Forest! (https://forum.itoosoft.com/forest-pro-(*)/best-workflow-for-very-large-scene-with-forest!/msg13782/#msg13782)" thread, where you can find some more tips for dealing with heavy objects / scenes. Hope you'll find it interesting.

Best regards,
