Title: Crash on building railclone object in 2018
Post by: KB2072 on August 21, 2017, 02:05:52 AM
Note, this could be a result of me still learning this system, but I thought I'd post.  I am attempting to build a railclone family, and have crashed Max 2018.1, 3 times.  There are strange occurances of forms that are not rendered when using surface in addition to a spline on the 1s generator.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're facing these troubles. Can you please save and send us (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=3648.0)  the minidump file of the crash (https://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=1484.0)? If you'll be able to reproduce it on a minimal scene, which you can send us (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=3648.0), it would be great.

Thanks in advance for any further comments on this issue you can share about it with us / our user community.

Best regards,

Got 3dsmax updated to 20-20.1.0.1452 version. You'll have to tell me if that is 2018.1
Anyway still getting the weird look prerender.  Note poles at corners of spline are actually 2 poles with a surface between per the wire frame elevation.

Hi,

To avoid deformations on "pole" Segments, please disable the Deform - Bend option for this Segment and switch to the Stepped mode to align them vertically. Under the Linear 1S generator Rules - Corner, the Bevel Corner option should be enabled. Attaching the modified scene. Hope you'll find it useful.

Let me add, that we're just analysing the unhandled exception leading to 3ds max crash.

Best regadrs,
