Creating an Acoustical Tile Ceiling
« on: January 15, 2014, 02:57:43 PM »
I am trying to create an acoustical tile ceiling, but having some issues with centering when the spline dimensions aren't a multiple of the tile size.

I am using 24" ceiling tiles, trying to fill a 13'x13' area.

Is there any way I can get this to center properly so the tiles at the side and top are all the same spacing?  I can manually create a shorter tile to start with, but I was hoping to make this a library item that didn't need to have custom pieces each time i use it.

Thanks!
-Jesse

Hi Jesse,

I've had a quick look at this and I've attached a revised version of your file with a possible solution. As you can see I've split the style into 4 generators, this enables me to use the X and Y evenly slots with the mode set to Justify to automatically center the grid lines . I've used the same settings for the tile generator but with empty segments in the X/Y evenly inputs so they are only  being used to position the tile segments.

Hope that helps.
