Title: Decking rotation
Post by: cloud9vis on February 26, 2020, 05:30:19 PM
Please could someone help me with what is probably a very simple problem, my knowloedge of railclone is fairly limited and I am struggling to align a decking area.

I have created the decking area using the rail clone default cladding preset and all I need to do is rotate the decking so that it is aligned to the model. I have played with all of the different properties in the style editor but cannot successfully rotate the cladding boards.

The interior flooring preset has a rotate parameter which makes it very simple to rotate to the desired alignment if someone could talk me through adding this parameter to the cladding preset I would be very greatful.

Any other suggestions would also be welcome.

Much appreciated.

Phil.

Hi Phil.
As you notice most of the Cladding presets are based on the Macros so you will probably need to edit current Macro.
For Rotation, you can try to change Auto Align to `Spline`.
If you need more control then leave Auto Align to `X -->XY` and introduce a new numeric node for Z rotation angle and connect instead Horizontal/Vertical node.
To preserve the Horizontal/Vertical parameter you can just add Arithmetic node and set it to ADD, like in pic.4.
After editing macro return to Top Level and you should see a new parameter for Z rotation.
I hope this will help you.
Best regards.
