Nested Pivots
« on: March 28, 2022, 06:47:00 AM »
Hi
The nested generator (Transform>Pivot Y/Z) is shifted from the spline by the distance of RC object from the world origin.
I forgot, Is this expected behavior?
It took me ten minutes to remember about this to fix my Style.  ???

Hi Dragan! The pivot used is the RailClone object's BUT there's a difference in where A2S and L1S generators are created in the scene when no splines are used to define the size of the array.

In the case of A2S Generators, the array builds using the RailClone object's pivot as a starting point.
In the case of L1S Generators, the array builds using the world origin as a starting point.

I'll talk to the developers and see if we can get the L1S to behave like the A2S.

Thanks for reporting it.

Paul

Thank you Paul.
It is not a big issue if you know about it and just pays attention, but users/me included reference everything on to the spline, especially when working with Pivots alignment.

We'll fix it. It makes far more sense than both generators should behave the same way, we don't want to confuse users any more than necessary :)
