Title: Does a copy of a segment in the flowchart double up it's memory usage?
Post by: Adam86 on May 29, 2018, 02:49:42 PM
Might be a bit of a stupid question but when railclone has a mesh segment let's say for instance being used 'evenly', i make a copy of the same segment and plug it in to 'corners', does rail clone only read the mesh directly linked to the mesh or does it make copys of the mesh when plugged in to different options?

Hi, RailClone reads the mesh of the source object, so if you modify the object, both segments are updated.

But on the other hand, each segments keeps internally a copy of the mesh (to transform it and other operations).
If the mesh is huge, and you're concerned about performance, it's more efficient to keep an unique segment in the Style Editor.
