Hi, I'm under a deadline and have to make simple paver pattern.
I swear that I saw an example on the forum, but I cannot find anything now.
So, could this be done with the ability to randomize the color/texture of the pavers?
Here is the simple pattern in plan view.
Thanks!

Are you using only full-size tiles or 1/2 size too?
Here is a quick sample for full-size tiles using sequence...
The style contains two generators. First one use just Extended clipping spline and Second use X/Y size (to set the size to overlap clipping spline) and Clipping spline to Clip.
You can use the second Generator to set place of the whole pavement.
You can use the last Transform operator to set Gaps or you can set Random - translation/rotation/scale.

Here is the topic for the pattern using compose generator.
Rokas has made a complete tutorial when answered me. (Thank you again Rokas :D!)

Hi Dragan,
Thanks a lot for your help! I will take a look at your example right now.
I had not decided on only full or half as well.
I've seen Rokas's pattern page and it is great! Hopefully next week after deadline I can try those exercises. :D
Thanks and BR

It is almost perfect :)
How can I avoid the running joints and gaps?
Thanks again 8)

Your example pattern has running joints.
1, Try expression
2. Try to increase Expand parameter
-
My example pattern image is the entire field, so there are not running joints.
Thanks, it helped to enlarge the expand% and to edit the expression you displayed!
Last question for the modeling bit, would be how to adjust the row sequences?
For example I want to have 1 row of large, 3 rows of small, 1 row of large, 3 of small...and so on.
Or 2 rows large, 1 row small, repeated...
Thanks for your help again, I really always forget how bad I am with Railclone :P
-
That one is even easier :D
Check the list of Parameters:
You can set #of small/large rows and phase for offset (1 for none, 2 for 1/2, 3 for 1/3 .... etc.)
If uniform Phase equals 0 then individual Phase for Small/Large is active else Uniform Phase will be used.
