evenly distance in every arch offset...
« on: December 21, 2014, 04:45:24 PM »
how to rotate an object in the arch and placing it within the same? I have a case for three arches which offset where a small arch with R which will vary with the distance arch that R is greater. why the position can be different from the same distance? how to solve it?

Hi, Thanks for contacting us. My apologies, I'm afraid I am a little unclear on your question, but from what I gather you need the evenly segments to align on arches of different radii?

When using Evenly in Default mode, RailClone uses a distance measured along the spline to place segments. You will find the positions vary for each spline:

If you are using a RailClone 2.4 beta and above, you can use the new Evenly Count mode specify how many evenly segments to place at equally spaced intervals along the spline. Using this mode you are able to create segments that align radially:

This mode can be enabled by following these steps:

  • Select the Generator
  • Go to the Properties panel and change Rules > Evenly > Mode to Count
  • Specify the number of evenly segments using the Rules > Evenly > Count property

I've attached a scene file to help illustrate. I hope that helps, however if it's possible to provide a simplified scene file or image to help illustrate the issue, it'll help me to provide a more accurate answer.

Many thanks,

Paul
