Possible in the current RC?
« on: September 26, 2023, 02:35:30 PM »
Please take a look at this:
there are 60 degree tilted columns that  connect upper and bottom curvy splines (not equal in plan view). Is it possible reproduce in current RC?

Hi,

As mentioned in this tightly related post by my colleague Paul: "I'm afraid at the moment there's not an easy way to achieve this, RailClone doesn't (yet) have a generator that can create geometry between two parallel splines. However, there are a few workarounds that might be possible. Please take a look at this thread for a similar case. "

Please feel free to watch this related part of July's livestream for more details.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Yeah I saw it before - the solution is  rather distant from be called fully parametric. The task is much more cumbersome than not just connecting 2 splines: RC should preserve column's tilt (+\-60 degree), distance between columns and besides there are complex joints at the column ends that  made of 2 correspondingly rotating parts (2 axes).
