Hi,
I have been trying to figure out how to do a felmish bond that has bricks removed like in the pasted image. The idea is to create a type of PLUS symbol with bricks removed to create a feature wall. However the only way i can think of doing this is to turn the wall into a edit poly and manually doing this.
Is there a way of doing this within the macro. I tried opening it and it scared the hell out of me with all the wires and everything.
Also is there a way to actually add mortar between bricks instead of just a gap?
thank you

Hi,
As you’ve pointed out, the Bricks – Flemish Bond macro is quite complex. However, you can achieve this pattern by creating your own style using Sequence Operators. Please find attached a sample file (250609_FlemishBond3DPattern_ITOOSOFT.max) demonstrating a possible approach. To add the mortar, you can edit the brick geometry directly and assign a different Material ID to the mortar sections. I hope this helps.

Thank you soooooo much for making that for me I love you!

Hi again,
I have tried to fix the issue, but again at a loss. I tried to rotate the half brick but cant seem to find where to place the mirror!
See the 3d file attached. I have tried to add beveled mortar, but cant seem to align them properly. Any idea? Very difficult to actually get the proper mortar working as it would in real life.
Again, i really appreciate your help allready.

In this case, including the mortar within the brick object doesn’t work particularly well. It’s better to place it separately using additional Sequence Operators. I’m attaching a revised version of your scene (250610_FlemishBond3DPattern_ITOOSOFT_REV.max) - while it can still be fine-tuned for even better results, I hope it helps point you in the right direction.

Hi,
I tried to post in another topic but i keep getting an error 404 when i post so i had to write here.
I am trying to make a zinc standing seam roof in this model, however I get alot of issues with faces. Also when i try to render with corona, it removes the railclone because it says there are too many faces.
Also, there is a point near the corners of the standing seam where i want seams to connect, is this possible with railclone? see screenshot below.
Most of the time, in these weird roof shapes i have, i get errors with the defoult planes, they do not fill the whole roof and are left empty.
Does railclone have a standing seam roof style that i can use? Has anyone built one on here which i could maybe use?
do you think you could help here, again i would be so greatfull.
thank you.

Does the Segment you’re using have any thickness? If it’s just planar geometry, adding some depth (e.g., using the Shell modifier) might help.
If you continue to experience issues, please feel free to send us (https://forum.itoosoft.com/faq/how-to-send-a-file-to-itoo-software/) your scene — ideally simplified and containing only the problematic object(s) — so we can review it here. It’s difficult to determine the exact cause based solely on screenshots.

i have attached the model with the roofs.

Please find attached a modified version of your scene (250613_roofExport_ITOOSOFT.max), where I replaced the X Evenly input with a Sequence Operator set to Increment at X mode, wired to the Default input. I hope this helps.

Hi,
There was nothing in the file you saved, it was empty with only 30kb file.

I have tried replicating the same as you have done there on the image you shown me with the sequence, it works better, however for some reason it misses some lines near the bottom as seen on screen. Also, every time i add any more lines to this roof to add more sections it crashes my 3ds max.
