Railclone Proxy Render Problem
« on: June 22, 2018, 05:30:07 PM »
Hi everyone,

I've got a problem with a VrayProxy inside of a Railclone. The Proxy renders fine outside of the Railclone object, but inside Vray only renders the Proxy Preview Mesh.
Other Proxies inside of the same Railclone render just fine.
I already tried recreating the Proxy and Relinking and Reloading inside of the Railclone.

Thanks for every reply I'm out of ideas how to solve the Problem.

As general rule, we suggest not to use proxies with RailClone. They are supported for compatibility, but there is not benefit using them.
Standard geometry is instanced in same way that proxies, and supports all features.

To reduce file size You can xref objects.

If You attached Your scene we would investigate where the problem is.

Thanks a lot, using XRef objects solved the problem for just short "railclone paths".

For longer paths I now used a combination of railclone and Forest Custom Edit path mode.

I'm a little bit puzzeld that using proxies worked for a bit in railclone and then suddely stopped working, but now I just try to use XRefs with Railclone.
Is there something planned in the future for better proxie support in railclone?
