Title: For no-slice - replace ?
Post by: BI1654 on April 07, 2016, 10:11:12 AM
Hi, im wondering if its possible to have this option?
For example, doing a ceiling grid, at the edges I dont want lights or air vents being sliced but instead want a plain tile that can be sliced.

So, where we have segments that are tagged as no-slice, using the "For No-Slice" drop down we can instead specify a replacement segment. (instead of Remove, Preserve, Slice)

Hope this makes sense..

Is there any workaround for this in the mean time? Im making a lot of ceilings!

Hi,

You might find this post useful for this issue. http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2502.msg10488#msg10488

As it mentions, at present  there isn't a way to to detect if a segment has been cut because the clipping operation takes place after the graph has been evaluated but we'll look into this and see if there's an alternative method we can implement in the future.

Many thanks!

Paul

Thanks, that would work. This will also work for removing lights at partitions as well actually.
Although loses a bit of its streamlining this way, especially for complex (pain in the ass) layouts.

Some function similar to the vray distance tex would be great if possible, not sure if it is!? So within 600mm of object X, RC only places plain tiles for example.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll talk to the rest of the team and add it to the wishlist, as you can imagine we have a long list of requests for the next RailClone :)

Many thanks,

Paul
