Title: Forest Color type map for RailClone?
Post by: wjc_3d on April 29, 2017, 06:37:47 PM
I love the way I can create different materials for Forest Pack with Forest Color.  I'd like to do the same thing with RailClone.  Is there a way to do it?

I'm BRAND new to RC, and what I have is 2 different objects, each of which I have painted 3 different materials for.  I applied the multi-sub object for each object, and then created the RC array.  The materials wouldn't render this way.  (Added the material ID random node, didn't work).  It appears I have to assign the material to the RC array itself, then allow that to randomly select a material ID.  This isn't want I really wanted to do, since each object had it's own normals, specular, etc.. Is there a way to do this?  I thought maybe a "Forest Color" type map would work, but don't see one for RailClone.

Hi, i just replied your question in the RailClone beta forum, but in case other users have the same question: RailClone Color is included as new feature in RC3 beta (https://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=4427.0).
