Title: Future Feature Requests
Post by: Adnan Malkoç on February 11, 2021, 08:33:45 AM
Hello there!

I am working on a new library for retail design. If I succeed, I believe it will speed up our store design process bazillion times faster. (Thanks to Itoo team for this excellent plugin)

Anyway... now there are few things I couldn't find which I really like to see in RC.

1) Dropdown menus on the style parameters. I'd like to see a list with "names". So when I choose "black" or "double-sided" etc. it will automatically choose value behind. I know I may use hints to show which value means what, but that's not intuitive.

2) Inputs with multiplying increase (every Nth). For example, I want to locate my shelves on every 5th cm. So entering integer not suits well. Is there any way to limit user enter values like 5, 10, 15... cm?

3) BOM! I know this may be a lot to ask but having an option for "Bill of Materials" could be really really helpful. A feature like "count this segments" or "count x". Maybe even with Excel export :) When you complete your design it shows you how many shelves, uprights etc.

I'd like to hear your opinions or suggestions.

Thanks!

Hi

Thank You for Your suggestions.

1. Is already in our to do list. No eta for this but I agree, this would help to organize presets to a new level.

2. Something like this can be achieved with macros (attached an example). It is not limiting users input, but rounds up automatically for them.

3. That is outside of RailClone target usage. It would be very complex (if at all possible) to implement. Sorry, we don't see this feature in RailClone. RailClone is not a BIM product.

Thank you for your super prompt reply.

1) It's really good to hear that. Please inform me the first!!! :)

2) Wow, that simple macro saved a lot for me. Probably I'll change many things after this. Thank you!

3) Ah I know, I know... Just tried my chance...
