I realize that it's difficult for you to diagnose without seeing something but I thought I'd just do a quick post in case one of you said, "oh yea, just  do 'xyz' and they will go away."

I have a scene that is backlight by a rising sun in the scene that's in your face. Imagine watching a sunrise. The sun is already above the horizon. The trees I have in the foreground have terrible fireflies all around the edges of them. I'm using Corona Render, latest daily build. Is this common and are there accepted methods to mitigate this?

Hi,

As you've pointed out, it's really hard to say what might be causing it in your case and we're not Corona renderer experts, but I would suggest you to check the Max sample intensity value (in case of 0 it's disabled, in case of greater values than 100 lowering this value is highly recommendable - usually the default value of 20 works fine).

Also high glossiness values of used material(s) might lead to this effect (lowering material's glossiness should help to reduce sun reflections). A possible option to avoid it is to disable reflection visibility for Corona Sun (or the used light source) under Visibility - Visible in reflections.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thanks Michal, i appreciate the suggestions. I've disabled 'Visible in Reflections' and it helped a lot. I appreciate the response.
