Title: Gradient Probability
Post by: sjmoir Hawkins\Brown on February 27, 2019, 02:37:44 PM
I like the Gradient Probability tuturial. Is there a way  to use more than two materials ie. A range of reds changing to a range of blues along a facade for example?

Hi,

You can use the same style set-up as shown in the Graduated Colour Probabilities (https://www.itoosoft.com/tensecondstips/graduated-colour-probabilities) "Ten seconds tip" in combination with the RailClone Color (https://docs.itoosoft.com/railclone/railclone-color) maps used within the assigned material (for example, the Tint feature can be very handy for this kind of tasks).

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thanks Michal, I ended up with a similar set-up using Corona multimap, makes sense.

Hi there,

I am trying to use the graduated example in the Ten Second Tips in my scene, but somehow it's not working. I have a feeling it is to do with the expression. In your 10 sec tip, the expression written in blue is different from that in the screengrab below it. I have tried to use both with no luck - my tiles render black. However if I use a standard Material node without exporting any parameters the different materials show up..albeit not graduated. Please see screengrabs attached.

I'm sure it's something very simple but I can't seem to get it right.

Thanks,
Terri

Please not that expression syntax has changed a bit from V2.
Expression editor functions has been expanded. And that required some changes how they are written.

Test expression "-1*(Input/4)" in v2 should be written in v3 and v4 like this:
return -1*(Input/4);

Basically all expressions should have "return" in start of "expression" and You should end them with ";"

If You need further help with Your current style, feel free to attach a simplified max file.
