Hello, everyone.
I am very new to railclone2 atm please help me out! :'(
I want to make an object alone the path of a single spline, that has a gradient spacing..
I tried to do it with the 3dsmax spacing tool but it seems like it could only do same distance of spacing.
attach image to maybe help understanding..
I was wondering if Railclone2 has the ability to do this!
thank you!!

Sure You can!
I attach a max file for you to see how I did it. Probably there are some other ways too.

Thanks Rokas.
this is exactly what I'm looking for
-
Great! thanks for idea!
i wonder if incremental scale also possible somehow

Dear Rokas,
thanks again for your answer, after trying it out.. there are two problems i think i need your help again..
see attach image 01. could the gradient be more exaggerated at the ends of the gradient? I mean like the gradient seem to be consistent spacing at the end. (I think it's by changing the expression, but I'm not so familiar with it)
see attach image 02. the gradient objects seems to get cut off by Vertex?? any ways to avoid it?
attach max file if you could help !! ;)
thank you!

Hi
thank You for giving me something to work with. ;)
I introduced two parameters to control gradient- it should be pretty flexible now.

Let us know if You have any other problems.
I also fixed vertex slice problem by disabling segment slice options in Deform tab.
Check attached file.
P.S. Just wondering what is this style for ?

Hey Rokas,
thanks for the advice, now I'm just trying to understand what the expression means..
some math needs to be done.. because in the end I need to know what are the distances and what are the relationship, the code or the arrangement array
it's just a simple wall decor study, nothing special... try to make a blank white wall to be more interesting..haha :)
-
good luck... ;)
imo better to find composition You like and only then measure distances with max tools
-
Hey Rokas,
I'm back!! I have another question for you!
if then i want to control the distance between units with certain sequence of algorithm according to the pivot point of the object
such as like 2,4,6,8,10.... or 1,3,5,7,9 is there a possible way of doing it??
http://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/tutorial_counting.php
i look at this tutorial but it looks like they are divided evenly, but I want the distance to be 2,4,6,8,10 to maintain the look of some gradient...
thanks for the help and effort again ;D

If i understood correctly this is what you want:

I changed so it now has two ways for calculating gaps- power function and multiplication function

Hope that helps. Should You have any more questions, please ask.

Hello Rokas,
thanks for the quick reply..
heres what im thinking.
i think its pretty close... i think image will show you better what im thinking.
the color ones are the ones i think maybe you could do??
its like i could control the numbers of units...right now is (4)
and the distance is i think it could be control by segments of the spline?? like .__4___.___4___.___4__.__4___. haha
i dont know its thats too hard...just wondering but if its too comlicated thats ok...

i dont understand your illustration,
I see two different spacing at the top and bottom, which do you want?
-
Sorry Rokas...
just two need help..!!
Im sorry to waste your time :-\
attach image and file for your information
-
give me 20 minutes
-
i can`t do 3rd style, yet, maybe someone from iToo can help ?
I need operator, just like random which can generate new values on changed spine segment, but i need them to increase one by one instead of random
williamyu1988, if it is always the same number of elements(in your illustrations it is 4), then it can be done using other techniques, is it?
-
That's Okay Rokas
your advice is very helpful, thanks for the effort
but is it possible just the use the evenly? i think its possible with the operators build in..
say like every 3cm will have one unit object
-
i`ve got an idea for 3rd- but it will require little more time,- maybe weekend... i got interested in this problem ;)
evenly is simple:
i wont attach a max file, but a gif- so you can see, how i did it:

Rokas take your time don't have any pressure..
thank you so much
thanks for the evenly :)
