Help creating truss structure
« on: July 23, 2018, 05:26:52 PM »
Hi, max user here and 1st time posting :)

I'd like to create a truss structure that considers the junction between the 2 systems. Right now i've got 2 railclones that are more or less connected but they are overlapping each other when they connect. I want to have, if possible, one railclone that knows when they are connecting. I tried to create a sequence with a blank segment but it didn't work. How do i do this? [See attachment]

Thanks!

(please tell me if i need to make another post instead of just using this one)

Can i limit the rotation on Z axis? I don't want it to go under the red line, i want it to move only on x and y axis.

Thanks!

Unfortunately that is not possible with RailClone.

I don't really understand Your setup in second post about limiting rotation on Z axis, could You attach a simplified scene of what You want to create?

Hi Rokas, thank you for the answer!

1. About the trusses, what is the action you recommend? Can i create a sequence with a blank segment, just like it can be done with randomize? So for example i could use a sequence like this: segment 1; segment 2; blank; segment 1;segment 2. How can i do that?

2. It was a stupid thing, i think i had to sleep on it, sorry to bother.

Thanks!

Yes You can create empty segment:

Oh, brilliant, that worked!

Thanks.

Another issue, and i think its last one.

I'd like to know if its possible to force the segment 'chapa' to follow the Z axis of the spline while on 'stepped' option on deform panel.

I have to create multiple tension rods and they have different heights and lengths. I need the bottom segment (chapa) to be aligned to the spline and parallel to the ground at the same time.

Thanks again!

I figured i had to reset xform after changing the pivot position. It works now!

I attached the image (WIP) with the tension rods and the truss structure that you helped me to create.

Thanks, my first impression on the support you guys give here is awesome!

One more thing, is it possible to offset from line in this railing template? If so, how do i do it?

I'm creating this façade curtain wall, everything is perfect except for this geometry that has this face missing, do you know how i can fix this issue?

Thanks!
