Hi,

That'll depend mainly on how you want to drive these rotations (by an expression or a map?) - as this at a first sight looks like a RailClone task, using the Forest Pack plug-in might be in this case easier - it can rotate each item easily based on a map (under Transform > Rotation > Map). Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Hi,

Please feel free to check the sample scene using the “map approach” (in this case a procedural Waves map).

Best regards,

Hi,

In case, you're using this work-flow over an "uneven surface", I'm afraid, that's one of the limitations the Forest Pack Lite version has - it works only with "flat surfaces". Instead Forest Pack Pro allows you to scatter also over uneven surfaces. It works with any surface type supported by 3ds Max (patch, mesh or NURBS). Please check our on-line reference documentation about Surface adjustments and it's modes - Forest Pack Pro can operate in XY mode or UV mode, which can be useful in several situations. You can find a full list of locked features for the Lite version in our online reference guide. Thanks for your comprehension.

Best regards,
